Matt Locke

Matt Locke sold the house he designed and built in Colorado to move in 2005 to Los Angeles to pursue a life of media and design. After a TV debut on Jeopardy in 2007, Matt received national attention on HGTV's Design Star and Showdown and has become a complete one-stop shop in downtown L.A., reaching every area of design. After presenting new functional sculptures and creating the VIP lounge for Dwell Magazine's Dwell on Design, Matt oversaw the prototype process and set up a supply chain to produce a client's new boutique furniture line here in California. Currently Matt is managing the permitting and construction of a home addition he designed and is creating a 20-foot tall custom art installation - his artistic take on the New York City subway map in wood, metal, and glass - for a private residence under construction in La Jolla. Matt is the face of SC Johnson's Right@Home campaign for Walmart.com and is thrilled to present his curated collection of emerging West Coast talent here at SOURCELA. Matt holds a bachelor's degree in American history from Princeton University, studied fine art at the Savannah College of Art & Design, and industrial design at Chicago's Institute of Design (originally the New Bauhaus).
